Honda has introduced the new Mobilio

Honda has introduced the new Mobilio concept at the Indonesia International Motor Show.

Designed to preview a new Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) for Asian markets, the Mobilio has a rather plain exterior with a single bar grille, sweptback headlights and a ‘floating roof’ that echoes the Civic Tourer. The concept also has an Odyssey-inspired “lightning-bolt” beltline and a seven seat interior.

Since the model was developed to handle local road and weather conditions, the MPV has a crossover-like ground clearance of 185mm (7.2 inches).

Performance specifications were not released, but Honda confirmed the model is powered by a 1.5-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine.

In related news, Honda showed off the Brio Satya which has a 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine. This enables the model to return more than 20 km/L (5L/100km / 47 mpg US / 56.4 mpg UK) which enables it to qualify for Indonesia’s Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) program.
